Challenge the negative thoughts which occur. For example, you leave your home and suddenly you are thinking I need to go home because otherwise I will die, or something will happen to me. Challenge these. Will you really die if you went out, or would something happen to you. Has it ever? You need to acknowledge
every single thought, separately and listen to it. Think if it is realistic or if you are just over analysing things. Remember thoughts can not hurt you.
Sometimes these negative thoughts would have helped you. If you saw a bear, the thoughts of 'I might die and need to run', would be rather accurate. Your body then builds up the adrenaline and lets you have enough energy to run away or fight the bear. This also happens when you are anxious but the difference is you do not need to run away or fight the bear. Remember this and try to calm down.
